[Julie] Phase 2

For the rebranding of Sky Recording, I have changed the name to support the direction of the rebrand. It is not 816 Recording. From this sprout 3 brand directions which reflect 816 recording’s goal - to begin to voice attributes of elegance that also reflect a modern and a timeless Kansas City.  This identity’s face life will speak to an audience of musicians wanting to record with a confident and qualified company. They were Sky Recording but decided it didn’t give them a sense of placement through their location.

The first direction loses the name "Sky" but still ties in to the old name through use of imagery.


The second direction goes beyond the sky and takes it up to the next level – space. Through this form, I have aimed to gear my thoughts on the pun of 'stars' and getting the respect, recognition, "hollywoodization" [I think I just made up a word] musicians want and some dream of come true.


The third direction holds imagery based on Kansas City Skylines. The modern imagery places this recording company to recognizable sights in the city.  Including the elegant decorative border, the modern imagery is a nice juxtaposition to the elegant, timeless vectored shapes.
