Open publication - Free publishing - More beer (what?)
Boulevard has become the bona fide hometown beer of Kansas City, but in recent years has become one of the largest craft breweries in the central states. In fact, Boulevard's Unfiltered Wheat Beer is the #1 best-selling craft beer in the Midwest.
Boulevard strives to produce fresh, flavorful beers made with the finest ingredients and brewing methods—both old and new. Their passion for their craft is evident in everything they do—from constantly creating and introducing new varieties of beer to the construction of their energy-efficient brewhouse and their partnership with recycling program Ripple Glass.
Boulevard firmly believes that beer is meant to be a memorable experience, not a mass-produced consumer good. beer helps us create memories that leave their mark on us, and boulevard hopes to be a part of that—becoming, as a brand, something that leaves its mark on you and helps you leave your mark on the world.

I also wanted to work with a group that (although perhaps wasn’t successful when it came to graphics), really had their act together when it came to their main purpose of existence. Through records and observation, it’s clear that North Stars stands firm on its skills, character, and determination.
By rebranding North Stars, I enabled what visually represents them to be on the same level of how they are "physically" recognized.

I have created a framework for a surf supply company located in the heart of the kansas city. Although there is no ocean front, the fundamental values of surfing remain captivating to a young audience. Primarily intended for liberal males between the ages of 15-45.
Land Locked will offer products, exclusive to the area, created by wave minded individuals and companies; as well as produce a limited supply of soft goods, such as shirts, socks, hats, etc. The store has decided to debut in kansas city’s crossroads district because of its contrast to more consumer oriented areas like the plaza or overland park mall. Remain Genuine.

Creating a formally refined system with this much breadth was a refreshing challenge. A reworking of the system took place multiple times throughout the length of the project...As one thing was added or changed it skewed the entire system. Mastery of this symbiotic relationship Is far away...I do feel as if I was able to begin to develop an understanding of the organic qualities of the branding process...

Take Five is a food truck dedicated to bringing joy through food, a concept not unknown in the food world, but sometimes overlooked. This food truck is about sandwiches and bringing them them to the masses. It's a food truck that empowers people to take a break by using a playful approach invoking good old nostalgic memories of being outside and worry free. It's a food truck that cares about taking those 5 minutes to grab a bite, maybe meet someone new. Or play a game on the TV set up on the truck. Take five brings that moment to the people who desire a bit of inspiration or perhaps just a break. So take five.

I have generated a hypothetical meat market located in Kansas City. It is a place where young professions can find community and relationship through their common love for quality meat. These individuals are inspired by the process of meat through the gather stages to the consumption stage. Raghorn not only offers meat, but an experience. Raghorn does not stop after you leave the establishment. The goals and values of Raghorn carry past the point of purchase and into the home. While I still plan to develop this system past this course, I have learned a great deal about the rules and presentation of design systems. I now understand how to view other systems and value the importance of a brands mission of values. Through all things, this should be evident through the design.

Music is such a mysterious tool for our emotions. Just a simple melody can orchestrate how we feel and move us in inspiring ways. Music has become elemental for life—as something people can live through and express themselves through. Pulse Music Therapy explores how this power of music can act as an outlet for troubled youth. Music can give these adolescents a way to escape their troubled minds and personal issues. Pulse aims to help youth to find music as an outlet for emotions, a way to share passion, and a way to find happiness. Pulse explores doing this by inspiring youth to express what they're passionate about in a comfortable atmosphere.
Pulse values the impact that music can have on a life. We believe that our teen years can be one of the most confusing stages growing up, and we want to help youth through this significant period of growth in a way through music to express themselves and gain self-confidence. In short, we want to make music while changing lives. Phase4 Presentation

CUPPA is a hypothetical tea house. Located in Kansas City, MO it is a no frills tea house but a place of comfort and sophistication. Patrons can enjoy sitting down and remember what it's like to appreciate the company of others and be involved in a conversation with friends and family. The experience of drinking fine tea at CUPPA is a leisurely experience.
Using the colors black, white, and gold give the impression that
CUPPA is a sophisticated place, but the gold hints at the traditionalism that one will experience. The clean and simple typography for the brandmark is straight and to the point. By centering it in the middle of the circle it demonstrates the bold attention that CUPPA has. It insinuates the experience a patron will have at the tea house.
The simplicity and use of white space throughout the touch points illustrates the fresh and clean environment, but by adding the fields of black it gives a moment of contrast as well as representing a concept that CUPPA is a place where a person can sit, stay, and take their time. The design represents the traditionalism with the moments of contrast defining CUPPA's contemporary take on the traditional experience of drinking tea.

modern agriculture and corporate industry's involvement with food in the western world have generated many issues. in recent history, we moved from eating seasonal locally sourced foods, to processing, packaging, and transporting them globally. the adoption of industrial models of mass-production applied our food left us with profit-centered thinking—tied with convenience—and lacking any concern for nutritional content. these foods actually take away from health rather than give to it. what matters now to "big food" is shelf-life and generating it cheaply. when this model is applied to conventional agriculture as well, it leaves us with year-round unseasonal produce which has been transported by fossil fuels, chemically boosted with man-made corporately funded fertilizers, and are nutritionally deficient organisms. even worse, is this produce is consumed out of season, leading to thinking that just because it is fruit that it is healthy, creating an overindulgence in fructose that our bodies were not originally rigged for because those fruits were only available for consumption for a few weeks or months out of the year.
what every single community needs are farms that practice traditionally organic methods that leave the earth and our bodies intact. what they also need is a way to utilize those resources and have an easily accessible way to consume them.
seasonal squeeze offers a return to a model of community supported agriculture and bio-regional consumption. this a juice bar utilizes seasonal and local organic produce sourced directly from the surrounding community as opposed to a bottled up imposter sourced from different parts of the world. this juice is only from kansas city, and only from in-season produce—meaning we're closed half of the year. our juice bar has an element of diy, with the offering of a self-customized experience by choosing produce and pressing it personally. there are a large variety of energy giving flavorful combinations. seasonal squeeze! organic, local, self-pressed kansas city juice bar.
[focus] context: looping animation in store logobuild: two leaves rise, logo fills up like a glass of juice. the color of the juice shifts from green to orange, as a drop orbits the carrot-shape to allude to the sun and earth. concentric stirring of the juice further communicates seasonal cycles. the brandmark is stirred away to reveal the daily special. the daily special is stirred away, and the animation is looped. the audio is leaves and wind that when looped reinforces seasonal cycles.
