[jessie] phase 3

Take Five is a food truck dedicated to bringing joy through food, a concept not unknown in the food world, but sometimes overlooked. This hypothetical food truck is about sandwiches and bringing them them to the masses. It's a food truck that empowers people to take a break by using a playful and nostalgic aesthetic approach. It's a food truck that cares about taking those 5 minutes to grab a bite, maybe meet someone new. Or play a game on the TV set up on the truck. Take five brings that moment to the people who desire a bit of inspiration or perhaps just a break. So take five.

Touchpoints Presentation

recordbar touchpoints

continuing down the path of my air conditioner logotype, i pushed the recordbar back a few stylistic decades to become a place with more of a rockabilly vibe. landing on classic cars as imagery, and revising my tagline, brings a few new layers to the work i had previously done. the recordbar remains as authentic as ever, and i even found a way to bring the idea of "quality" into my tagline via the idea of high fidelity. the experience of using the menu is a direct one to one reference to a vinyl album, bringing us home to the name of the venue itself.

[ashl E] phase 3 final

while i had thought this phase would be a lot easier than the last, i found it actually to be the most challenging so far. part of the reason being that i revised my brand a lot. i'm so in love with the idea of this brand, that i found it a huge struggle to get to a place where i was satisfied with the brand's visuals. unfortunately taking so long to get to a good place with that put me way behind on all of these applications that i thought would be easy. i found applying my brand visuals to all of these applications to be more of a challenge than i thought. part of the problem was that i was trying to apply all of my elements to each piece. i found that narrowing it to one or two elements helped a lot. once i figured this out, i started to become a lot happier with how everything was being applied.

the motion identifier demonstrates the passion that youth can express through music, and utilizes patterns and illustration to show music coming from within each person and outwards into music. this relates back to the idea of "pulse" being connected both to the pulse within as well as the musical pulse.

Cogneedo is a small business with a big dream; to enhance lives through technology. The way to do that is by merging design and development, technology and reality, and human and machine. Transparent technology is Cogneedo's philosophy. Creating digital tools that seamlessly blend with real life is the goal.

Applying the branding to various touchpoints makes Cogneedo come alive and legitimizes the brand attributes: dynamic, supplementary, convergence of technology and real life, and the idea that life can be improved upon.

Fizz Bomb is a small independent soda fountain that mixes up handcrafted sodas, candies, and treats from their shop down in the Crossroads of Kansas City, Missouri.

Energetic, Sophisticated, Creative, and Fun.

These four ingredients makes up the very nature of soda and are the heart of the brand. Because majority of the competitors lack a cohesive designed experience, the focus of this study is on a diverse range of tactile touch points such as environmental graphics, interactive systems, and packaging that embody the four ingredients of soda.

300 Pounds of Joy Touchpoints

Bringing my branding from phase 2 into the touchpoints I began to include color and a new pattern of concentric circles that draw the viewer's eyes to important information. The circles mix with the graphics in a retro sci-fi aesthetic that hypnotizes the viewer.

The touchpoints allowed me to show the more serious side of 300 Pounds of Joy, while still letting me use the colorful language of the restaurant. The store is free-spiritied and quirky, but it is indeed still a business.

[schenk] phase 3

Since last time, I've come to realize that perhaps the attributes I was focusing on (unification, family, and fun) were contributing to a more childish, and therefore weak look. Because of this, I went back and looked at previous attributes from other directions and decided to pull from those. My final attributes are: intensity, family, and pride. As of now, I'm showcasing North Stars as a high skilled group that is fully aware of their skill. This group is really close and could be referred to as a family; an exclusive family. Although the color palette is simply tweaked from North Stars original colors, I went though a generous amount of explorations and in the end, came to find that black, gray/gold, and red best represent my attributes.

skype's—for its language and attitude.

i assembled a "print-ready" version in issuu, which is why the document doesn't bleed (awesome crop marks) or have the proper gutter.

[alonso] Focus

Moving forward I plan on devoting my focus to a film piece; a short film if you will. I imagine this living on things like the website, social media, vimeo, youtube, etc. Basically any avenue that could be used as "advertising." Through out the process I have been talking about the experience. The environment. The lifestyle. For me These are things that are hard to embody solely through typography and color. What does the brand look like in a time based medium? That is what I am asking myself. I feel as though I can capture the qualitative aspects of the Hamilton's (sophistication, confidence, unreserved) through such an exploration I hope that this video will not only be an asset to my brand, but will also define the demographic that I've had trouble articulating and give life to the experiential part of my barbershop.

[lil s] focus

Because it plays such a big role in the representation of North Stars, my focus will be the club website. All of the club's audiences view their site and look at it as a way to learn about the club, understand scheduling, and compare to other clubs. I want to make it so information on the site is easier to access/ find/ navigate to. I also want to make it more eye-pleasing, not only so it sticks out from other clubs, but so visiters can view going online as enjoyable, rather than a boring task to obtain information.

after thinking for a long time about this, i sat and questioned what would be good for the lake? I decided on doing a sound motion narrative introducing the lake, showcasing it, and showing people what its about. If time allows i would also like to create some directional signage for the lake because there really isn't anything currently to let you know where you are at.

[collin R] focus

While this wasn't explicitly offered as a direction, I heard the Mr. Kidwell offhandedly mention it during critique, and it stuck like glue… I'd like to do a calendar. Like a garage calendar complete with retro calendar girls. Intro spread, 12 months, exit spread, front/back cover. I'd like to actually produce it, but I need to do some research…

so, as i move forward with my boulevard rebrand, i'm planning on doing some packaging to complete the system. i'm hoping to do at least two sets of packaging, in keeping with boulevard's tradition of branding each of its individual beers separately. i'd also like to create a separate packaging scheme for the smokestack series beers—either a 4-pack or one of the larger bottles.

here's some inspiration i've compiled so far.

[rojas] focus

Because I have chosen a museum I felt it best to focus on a brochure that will capture the essence of the museum and entice patrons for a visit into the world of toys and minis. I will also tackle creating interior graphics and signage. What I am most excited about is creating a series of posters that advertise the wonders of the museum. These posters will serve as a way to excite and provide a bit of humor.

[jessie] focus element

My focus is going to be on packaging and vehicle graphics. I think there's an opportunity to design the touch points as a story...after this hypothetical Ted character goes to the website (in this scenario) it leads him to the truck and every touch point in between that...from the toothpick in his sandwich to the truck itself; I think it's important to have those key details shown. If time didn't work against me all the time, I'd try to do something with motion. I would like to show a fun animation of the brand "doodles" on the website or even projected onto the truck at night?
