phase2 presentation
special emphasis should be placed on crafting a professional-level, verbal and visual presentation. please do the following:
- change narrative voice—if necessary, remove yourself. example: "the goal of this organization's visual identity is/was to… " and not "our identity's goal…"
- include design objective/problem statement
- rework vision, mission, attributes if necessary
- you may include any info, visuals, research, or development in addition to the required content on the project sheet
- present three (3) quality concepts—propose one of them
- explain how your design decisions relate to the objectives and/or attributes
- practice delivering your presentation—this is really a persuasive experience
- use the same file naming convention and format as in phase 1
- verify that your files have been copied
- 11 × 17" digital color print of proposed solution

graphic elements: part of recent identity from COOEE, a design firm in amsterdam NL. take a closer look. yes—it's an identity system: color, type, flexible mark/logo, etc. all governed by rules. note how the "logotype" is pretty normal...it's just, uh...type. thanks for the find dustin!

what's in a name? ally can be defined as "one in helpful association with another; partner." intrigued? here is more—take a look. think about how would you define the "brand attributes" of this organization?

problem statement = design objectives

a problem statement or design objective might read something like this: "the goal of the visual identify is to convey these ideas...speak in this voice...reach this audience through...embody these attributes...address these needs...etc., etc." it's a couple of sentences worth of telling me what your design will do and what charactersitics it will have.

something in a name
the essence of the naming process as taken from pages 122 and 123 of designing brand identity:
STRUCTURE
examine brand goals—and the problem statement (aka: design objectives—what characteristics your design will have)
evaluate competitor names
GENERATION
create numerous names
organize and categorize into themes
explore variations/iterations on a theme
look at hybrids (not cars)
be prolific
SCREEN
search online for existing names/domains
TEST CONTEXT
say the name
imagine leaving a voicemail
put it on a business card
put it on an ad
check language and cultural connotations
