I am wanting to do some rebranding work with Hope House Kansas City. I have contacted the organization to try and get an interview and tour of the facility. I am wanting to create a more cohesive brand of elements and an identifying mark that will help victims recognize members they can reach out to for help. I also want to create a more comfortable space for victims that are staying in the shelter.

Forty Woods is a home grown live bait shop on the western border of Blue Springs along 40 Highway. I grew up around there. Blue Springs would like to consider itself as the last bastion of civilization going east from Kansas City. Problem is, it can't shake its redneck roots. Forty Woods is a perfect example of those roots. It's been in that same spot since the 70s, selling nightcrawlers, crickets, lures, guns, and everything else a country-boy could possibly dream of. [jessica] toys & minnies!
I've decided to rebrand KC's own toy and miniature museum. After a visit to the museum I found it to be a place full of wonder and whim, that could use a little help in establishing its identity. The idea of toys and really tiny things is all about being playful and emphasizing contrast, a landscape for many, many possibilities that I am excited to explore.
[Ivan Alonso] FRESH CUT
I've decided to brand a hypothetical barbershop that is of personal entrepreneurial interest. Why? I think that a barbershop is more than just a place to get your hair cut. The best shops or should I say the most memorable are the ones that have an enjoyable experience that frame the actual cut. Combining old school values and contemporary aesthetics, I want to create a shop that appeals to men and women that embrace a lifestyle of Quality & Style.
[drake] a land-locked lifestyle boutique
I've decided to focus my efforts this semester towards a land-locked lifestyle boutique. Although paradoxical by name, Midwest Surf Shop can offer a communal emotional experience for those wishing fer waves, and longing for sand and sun, but find their physicality geographically restricted.
[keaton] Local juice in Kansas City
I'm going to brand a speculative juice shop, whose goal is to utilize local organic produce from Kansas City, and offer it conveniently. Supporting local farming, community gardens, farmer's markets, and providing healthy options to the community are all highly valued.
I feel like Kansas City is missing this currently and would have a warm reception if it were to be introduced. There's a visual language that has formed in recent times (similar to beer packaging) around the organic foods market, so it will be a goal to attempt to offer something outside of the norm.
[jessie] Food Trucks

Food trucks are probably the hippest thing happening in the food world right now. It's trendy as hell, but for good reason. When I was young, I was fortunate enough to travel frequently with my family back to the motherland of rural China. It was there that I discovered my love for authentic street food, and proceeded to eat my weight in it when sampling the streets up and down. Food trucks bring that feeling back for me. Now that I am older, I've also fallen in love with convenience and affordability, all that food trucks offer + good food. I think it's hard not to be excited when it comes to delicious food that comes to you without breaking your bank. I look forward to a side of mobile branding that isn't just about apps.
[Lillie] North Stars Volleyball Club
I want to rebrand a volleyball club because as a high schooler, I was a volleyball player who enjoyed her years of club volleyball. Because I was a past player, I have an understanding of what it means to be a part of one of these organizations and can definitely utilize my past experiences. To make things a little more interesting, I chose a club that was always on the other side of the net from me: North Stars.
Another thing that excites me about the idea of working with a sports club is that I'll have multiple audiences: players ages 9-18 (playing / not playing for North Stars), parents of those players, other family members of players, club coaches, high school coaches, college recruiters, etc. With this in mind, I want to create something that can apply to everyone, but have that special tailored piece that those who "speak volleyball" can appreciate.

[Sam] Candy & Soda Pop Shop
My plan is to focus on some teeth rotting goodness. Take you back to a simpler time where you had to ask your mother if you could eat all that good stuff.
When I was a kid, my elementary school took a field trip to Bloom's Candy and Soda Pop Shop in downtown Carrollton. I'm not sure how old it is, but it's been there for quite some time and still exists today. Nowadays most of their customers are adults. I like to believe it's not about the candy, but about remembering the past and being a kid again, that's what interest me.
[mckenzie] redesign idea
I want to create a hypothetical tea house. A tea house based on traditional (possibly British) ideas and qualities. However, I want the esthetic to be modern and remove all of the frills and flowers that are the usual for a traditional tea house.
[matthew j] meat market
I am going to generate a speculative meat market. I would like to create a place where the patrons can build a lasting relationship based on consistency and overall experience with their meat purchasing extravaganza.
[The Jumper] says Restaurant
Since I have been working in restaurants since I was seventeen and I know I eventually want to open my own, I am going to brand a speculative sit-down urban American style deli that specializes in high quality deli goods, wet salads, made to order sandwiches, cold cuts, alcoholic drinks, breakfast and fresh breads. Also soup. Don't forget soup.
Many organisms, unlike humans, do not participate in the tradition of eating in groups. This social activity has greatly shaped the way we have evolved as a species, and continues to have importance. Where other species chase their brethren from their food; we humans choose to form stronger bonds by breaking bread with our neighbors and friends. Sharing a meal is an intimate act, but it is also a primal need necessary for survival. Eating with a good group of friends fills your heart as well as your stomach. Warm fuzzy feelings for everyone.

[ashley] music therapy and such
hypothetical music therapy center! i've always been fascinated with the effects music have on people emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc. and especially after doing more research on this topic, i've fallen in love with how this powerful tool can be used to help a range of people with a range of disabilities. music is already a huge passion of mine, so i know i'll have a blast with this from that aspect. but after watching videos and reading experiences of people with alzheimer's, autism, depression, etc. and how music can move them, i've found myself falling even more in love with this idea. it's one of those beautiful, goosebump-giving experiences and i'm stoked to work with it.
Hypotheticalish Branding (Phase #1)
I would like to brand a company/series of bass speaker cabinets that I dreamt up back in 2008. As a bass player, something that I've noticed as being absent in the bass stage presence Is a speaker that allows for a customizable sound and cutting edge look. This is something that is predominately only been found with electric/acoustic guitar players. These cabinets will be triangular and modular, much like the guitar company 3rd Power, who predominately take non-bass players into account. And with that I'll just leave this thing here that I made as a sophomore in high school...
